How this works

You broadcast to Twitch or YouTube, and your channel page here plays that stream inside this site, with this chat next to it. People watch at lsnow.net/c/sam — they never go to Twitch, never make an account there, never see it.

Why borrow theirs: sending video to lots of people at once needs a server running all month whether anyone watches or not, and that costs money. Twitch already runs thousands and lets you use them for nothing. The trade is a small logo in the corner of the video.

  1. Make a Twitch account, if you don't have one
  2. Install OBS Studio — free, and what almost every streamer uses
  3. When OBS first opens it offers an Auto-Configuration Wizard. Say yes, choose Optimize for streaming, and let it pick your quality. It tests your actual connection, which beats guessing.

Before your first real one

  • Close anything with your real name, address or messages on screen — Display Capture shows everything, including notifications that pop up mid-stream
  • Do a two-minute test and watch it back before telling anyone
  • Twitch's rules apply to you too, since it's their servers carrying the video
  • If you're under 18, tell a parent you're streaming publicly — better they hear it from you
